SIM not working or network down?

Hi, just wondering if anyone is having issues with the EE network?

My phone has not recognised the SIM all day and I've been unable to connect to any phone services. Other SIM cards work so it's not the phone. And other phones won't connect the SIM. So it must be the card or the network.

Thanks,

Geraint

All sorted. SIM was swapped as suspected it had died. There was some network outage so coincidentally had some issues and network down 🙈

Network status was down earlier but says resolved but either it's not or my SIM has died in a massive coincidence...

Even when in an area which said earlier fault but resolved still can't get any sort of connect.

I did try downloading an eSIM but from what I can gather you need to get a code via SMS first... So that's out the window...

As my phone has no signal at all it won't connect to WiFi calling.

If other SIMs work, that's also proof that the network is not at fault.

if the problem follows the SIM, that is a good indication of the issue - it's either account-related or SIM-related.

WiFi-calling is perfect for anytime you have no coverage - the whole premise is that you can use your phone without needing mobile network service.

Why can I not use WiFi calling then? Is it an indicator there's a problem with my account?

Hi @ClarkieGT,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

How far did you get with the eSIM activation? If you started a SIM swap, it will have permanently disconnected your physical SIM.

James

Hi James, thanks.

As I was having issues all day I eventually tried the eSIM in case my SIM had died. I downloaded a QR code but I couldn't activate it as it wanted to send me a text which I obviously couldn't receive... 😔

Hi @ClarkieGT,

Please get in touch with Customer Care so a member of the team can check your physical SIM is still active. If it isn't, they can complete the activation of your eSIM for you.

Thanks

James

I will be heading out this morning so will try calling the local EE store to see if they can help.

Many thanks

No problem @ClarkieGT

They'll be happy to arrange a replacement SIM if you take some identification with you.
