Poor signal but app says it’s great

App says I should have a great 5 bar signal. Without my Wi-Fi the phone is useless poor signal and no mobile data. That’s the local area as well. We are not that far from an ee mast but it’s probably for 5g users. Since 5g has been available my signal strength has reduced.

Hi @smeg153

If you register for updates on the coverage checker, once we have more information on the area our network team will let you know via text or email.

They’ve been on it for weeks now!  Had to resort to Wi-Fi calling at home using my Virgin broadband connection. Might as well have a landline at home and switch off mobile.

Hi @smeg153

If you give us a call on 150, the team will be able to provide a detailed updated for the area.

Leanne.

You need to raise it has a complaint , if it is your home address then EE should be releasing you from your contract,

EE will ask you to do speed test do them , submit them and see what they come back with and if they say everything is fine, also uses the ofcom signal checker,.but do not let them close the complaint , the ombudsman take a dim view of misrepresentation on a signal map and remember to stand your ground and if goes to the ombudsman then it cost EE a fortune so it's in its best interest to sort it, please don't be fobbed off

In legal terms, this advice is incorrect. No mobile operator will guarantee coverage in any specific location or a fault-free 24/7 service - T&Cs do allow for this.

EE offer WiFi-calling as an excellent mitigation for indoor coverage issues. Any derogation from this theory will be on an individual case-by-case basis.

The complaints process is available to use for anyone, but the coverage maps are not a guarantee of service either.

An update for any interested parties. The fault is ongoing as are the repairs. Must be nearly two months since it was first reported.
