Coverage in Northampton

Update: 14 November 2024

Over the past few days, our engineers have completed integrating the mast onto the network and the mast is now on-air. Full service has been restored to Northampton.

Update: 07 November 2024

Over the past few weeks, our engineers have completed building the equipment needed for the new mast. Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of our control, we have experienced a slight delay integrating the mast onto the network and are currently awaiting a date for the integration to be completed. Once we have a date for the integration, we can confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast.

We will keep you updated on this post.

Update: 08 October 2024

Over the past few weeks, our engineers have started building the equipment needed for the new mast. Barring any unforeseen delays, we expect all work to be completed and the mast to be on-air by the start of November.

We will keep you updated on this post.

Update: 25 July 2024

Our engineers have secured legal access at the first location to start building the equipment needed for the new mast. Barring any unforeseen delays, we expect to start building the equipment during September and can confirm an approximate on-air date once the site is built.

For the second location (as a back-up in case of any unforeseen problems with the first area), our engineers are conducting surveys to make sure the area will be suitable for the new mast.

We will keep you updated on this post.

We’re aware of a signal issue that is affecting some of our customers in the Northampton area.

Our mast in the area had to be removed from the existing site at the beginning of July 2024, as this was requested by the landowner. Our engineers began looking for a new location as soon as we were made aware our equipment had to be removed. We have located two potential areas for a new mast and are currently conducting surveys to make sure the locations will be suitable for the equipment.

Pending a positive outcome from the surveys, we can start legal steps to legally acquire the land from the site provider and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.

We will keep you updated on this post.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused. In the meantime, you may be able to use WiFi Calling to make and receive calls and texts over a WiFi connection.

For information on who can use WiFi Calling and how to set up this service, please see our Using WiFi Calling  Help page.

So EE riddle me this? The pinned post was last updated at 1.43 pm on Thursday 14th November to say all is well with the coverage (it isn't).

Now I was unaware of this when I made my monthly what the hell is going on with the signal phone call to the EE tech team at 5.20 PM ON THURSDAY 14TH DECEMBER. I was told that there was definitely a problem but she wasn't going to lie as she couldn't say when it would be resolved.

Given the pinned post would she not have said ALL IS NOW FINE WITH THE COVERAGE?

So using Bots to generate responses. Come clean about what's going on. Stop blaming users phones .... it clearly isn't.  Sort this mess out. Your contractors are feeding you a load of lies. The work clearly hasn't been done properly. 3rd Dec .... still without a signal.

Pro tip. If you are going to be economical with the truth about your service make sure everyone is on the same page.

When I called them a week ago and spoke to a senior complaint handler she said to me it’s fixed and a new one is up but there’s an issue with it. I asked where it was located as previously my bars were full and I never had any issue with signal bars - and now it’s (fixed) my bars are still barely 2 if I’m lucky but one most of the time- with these Victorian houses they are 4 floors, thick and mine is well insulated in and out  - anyways she didn’t confirm the location of the new site and said she would release me of all my contracts if I wanted.  Been paying half price for all them since July got a few months all free. Don’t want to leave ee as it was really good before this absolute catastrophe but I’ll have to look elsewhere now and move all my contracts along with me as they are more or less all useless where I live now

Yet I live and work in the area. There's bugger all signal between Billing Road, Abington Park, Wantage Road, Lea Road, Lutterworth Road. That's a massive area.

Last night it was being flagged as a coverage issue. The fact she admitted there's an issue with the new one boggles the mind. I'll be getting out soon. As you say, shame as I've never had an issue with EE before.

A mast going down or out of commission is one thing.

but how you have handled this whole situation is genuinely nuts. Couldn’t have done a worse job.

Full service is not restored in Northampton. Or it is if you go out of Abington. Maybe someone from EE should come down here and see it for themselves.

All I want for Christmas is for someone to fix the signal

What you'll get for Christmas is an O2 contract!

No signal in abington,  adnitt road. Can't take calls or emails. Yet when out of area . My phone works perfect. This has been since July ! Come on E E sort it out . Unhappy customers are here

Been on line to message no reply. Rang E E no answer. Yet the best in 11 years . Come on EE look after your loyal customers.

Hi don’t bother speaking to anyone from ee who isn’t complaints as they tell you nonsense or tell you to use wifi calling

https://business.ee.co.uk/help/make-a-complaint/call-back/

use the link above to request a callback from complaints who will be able to offer you discount on your contract or cut it off early. They take a few days to get back so do what I did and send a complaint form everyday and they’ll get back to you in no time

Is anyone still having issues with continued no signal ?

Yep. You can tell the new mast is up as certain locations have an improved signal but I have nothing indoors and the signal pretty much dies half way down the street. Going to give them ANOTHER call tomorrow. I've lost the will to live with it. I think the local press and OfCom are my next points of call.

Last time I spoke to them they admitted there was an issue with the new mast. God knows what they were doing Saturday but it has made sod all difference.
