Coverage in Market Harborough

Update: 10 October 2025

Over the past few weeks, our engineers have completed building the equipment needed for the new mast. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we expect the transmission to be installed by the beginning of November. Once the transmission has been installed, we can confirm an approximate on-air date for the replacement mast.

We will keep you updated on this post.

We are in the process of replacing a mast in the Market Harborough area as the current lease has expired.

A replacement site location has been found and we’re in the process of building the mast. However, due to some unforeseen complications, it is not yet live.

We'll update this post once we have more information.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience. In the meantime, you might be able to use WiFi Calling to make and receive calls and texts.

Beginning of November is at least 6 weeks without a usable service in the area. Presumably all affected customers will be given full refunds for the affected periods due to the issue being a lapse of administration on EE's side? I for one have had to take out a second contract with O2 so that I can actually use my phone in the area, and I don't see why I should be paying that extra cost due to EE just letting the lease expire without any forward planning.

It’s really poor - have struggled with data for weeks now when out and about in market harborough. Why do we have to request a refund ? Really bad service and been a real pain for me.
I really expected more from EE .
it’s really noticeable when you travel to other places and the service is so much better

@wishworks16  any area can have a mast off line at any point in time.   The simple fact that none have gone offline once you get to a different location will always be noticeable.   As for a refund read the contract T&Cs that you agreed too.    A new mast had to be built and then it’s a case of power and installation of parts they don’t come pre-made ready to go and you just stick it on the ground.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Your post makes no sense. What does "The simple fact that none have gone offline once you get to a different location will always be noticeable.” even mean?  EE built the new mast at the corner of Welland Park Road and Northampton Road in April 2025. They then removed the existing working mast in the Friendship Park in September - some 5 months later - before switching on the new mast which is still not live. In a couple of days it will be November and all they’ve said is to expect an announcement about when it will be switched on. A top tier telecoms company like EE should have been able to sort this out in days, not months. The new mast has been standing there doing nothing for months. They don’t care because we’re all paying whether we have a working signal or not. Their ineptitude is  shocking. I’m lucky because I’m not in a contract with EE so I can leave at any time - but all networks are bad in Market Harborough.

Do we have any update on when “by the beginning of November” is?

Should I expect my mobile data to be functional today, this week…?

I recently signed a 24 month contract with EE as it was the only decent network in Market Harborough. That aged well…

Yo, @Christopher_G and EE…

It’s November. Sort this out please.

A bill credit is not enough - you owe us all some serious compensation for this monumental mess.

An updated would be appreciated at least.

This situation is getting worse with calls now starting to drop reported by multiple EE users in Market Harborough it was bad enough with no data that works but now calls and texts not working it is having more effect.

Openreach came and installed their equipment 3 weeks ago but still not enabled by EE. The months compensation offered is now over and have been told by Customer Service cannot have a further GWG discount even though situation is getting worse as even the North side of town is been affected as more users are trying to use it in this area .

If this is further delayed please EE look at placing one of mast on wheels so at least users can get back online

For those with ‘Legal Expenses’ cover on your home insurance, join me in calling to put in a claim in relation to ‘goods and services’.

You’ll likely have cover of up to £100,000 to take legal action against EE. This is now my chosen route given the lack of attention to the matter.
Maybe a few legal letters landing will wake them up.
