Over the past few weeks, our engineers have been continuing negotiations with the site provider for planning approval for the first location. Pending a positive outcome from the negotiations, we can start legal steps to legally acquire the land from the site provider and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.
Our engineers have located an area for a temporary mast to be installed and are working with the site provider to conduct surveys to make sure the area will be suitable for the equipment.

Over the past few days, our engineers have optimised some of the existing sites in the area to support customers that have been impacted from the removal of the existing mast.
Our engineers are looking at other temporary options to restore service as quickly as possible to Barnet, whilst continuing with the surveys for a new permanent mast at the new location.

We are aware of a signal issue that is affecting some of our customers in the Barnet area. Our mast in the area had to be removed from the existing site in March 2026, as the building is being redeveloped.

We have located an area for the new mast and are currently conducting surveys to make sure the location will be suitable for the equipment. Unfortunately I see the council have within the last week refused permission for a new EE/Three mast in the area.
There's not a lot any network can do if the council are against new masts, and based on the long list of refusals on their website, this one certainly is. Perhaps contacting councillors about the current lack of signal and the impact it is having may help.

This has been going on for a good few days now and is not good enough. People pay a lot of money to subscribe to your services and if they can’t even make a basic phone call then something needs to change immediately. You are losing money by refusing to acknowledge the seriousness of this.

This has been out of service for 2 weeks now . When I call ...I have to explain everything from the beginning, every single time, there is no ETA.
Appalling.
No updates. No help. I'm so so disappointed and will have to cancel my EE account.

They are bothered and put in planning application for a new mast, but as above, it was refused by the council. There's nothing that can be done in that case other than try again and hope residents support rather than object to the application.

Apologies if someone’s already queried or answered this, but where exactly was the removed mast location in Barnet?

It was on top of the block of flats on the corner of Station Approach and Station Road. This is being re-developed into better quality flats.
A similar situation has arisen over our TV reception. The gasometer by Victoria Rec is about to be demolished. Our local TV mast is attached to the top. A new temporary mast has been erected in the Leisure Centre car park. It's not as high and may not work for everyone but it did not require planning as it is an emergency. I believe our current situation with EE is very similar.
