Hi,

When making phones calls through the regular phone service on my Samsung s21, I can't hear anyone and they cannot hear me. I know my device is not the issue because I can make calls just fine on WhatsApp and Facebook. This happens regardless of whether I am connected to WiFi or using my data. Any help appreciated.

Regular voice calls don't use data, they just use VoLTE which is tech-standard for voice over 4G. Does this same thing happen with these calls that aren't using VoWiFi? You're correct to identify that "calls" through apps are not treated by your phone or the mobile network as calls, but just app/data usage.

Have you tried restarting your phone?
