Who the hell are 1&1 Versatel? I have recently had a major drop in speed using these people, it only seems to be where I live, just down the road I can connect to EE which gives better speeds

Hi @stevemartin

https://www.united-internet.de/en/brands/11-versatel.html

Search Google.

Might be used by BT for some infrastructure maybe?

Thanks

How are you using 1&1 Versatel? Are you in Germany? It is a German fixed fibre BB provider. How can it affect EE's mobile network?

What makes you think you are "using" 1&1? What are you doing with your phone, what is your phone saying/telling you, that is causing you to think so?

Are you running a speed-test and it's being presented as the server location?

1&1 (aka IONOS) itself would be a diff matter. It is a global domain & email provider amongst probably other things incl. a World Tour Cycling Team.

When I do a speedtest on ookla the server name comes up as 1&!Versatel instead of EE, I have just bought a Pixel 10 pro would that make any difference?

All speedtests use their own collection of servers which are never EE's but various Internet providers.

All you have done is run a speedtest to a default server in Germany. No wonder you are getting slow speeds to Germany. You should get the speedtest to use a server nearer yourself in UK. There should be some button to Change Server, viz:Capture.JPG

Ookla speed-test should have the option of using whichever server is best performing at the time of running the test.
