Wrong extra charge

I have just checked my account from the EE app and discovered an additional charge of £0.76 for a photomessage at 6.35pm yesterday. At this time I was sitting in a bar in Kioni with friends and never sent nor received a photograph, text message or similar.

How has this happened?

@kevinko   If you didn’t send any text at all at this time frame quoted you’ll have to call customer services about this.

I am in Greece for another two weeks so will have to swallow this one I'm

@kevinko , That could be why, if you sent the message in the morning in Greece, it will take a while before it shows up that you are being charged, depending on what roaming package you have. If you are near Turkey, then that could incur a charge, as it may have picked up a network inTurkey instead of Greece.

I know you sent it in the morning, so not sure why this would show up as being the evening, but when you are back in the UK, ring customer service and discuss this with them then, they will be able to take a look for you.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Emoticons shouldn't normally trigger an SMS to be sent as an MMS, but neither is that impossible.

Try copying the previous message into a new message, and see if your phone says "converting to MMS" or similar.
