Hi
I’ve just come from a conversation with someone at EE upgrades and he told me that there is not now a fair use policy on roam abroad data and that I can use my full allowance when I travel!
Is this true and how on earth can I find out for sure?! .. I spent ages trying to find out that it was 50GB (which it was!)
thanks
🙂

Hi @Loopy65
EE have had a fair use on roaming for years.
I suggest you read your contract terms and conditions:

Thanks

Yup, I know they always had one and after a lot of research last year (EE people on the phone say many different things!) I was able to find out that it was 50GB.
However, as per my post, I was told today that there is no limit by an EE customer advisor. I said that I had thought it was 50GB and they told me no, there’s no limit. My question was whether anyone else had heard or been told similar.
Also, the link you sent was very dated terms and conditions and nothing about FUP but it’s ok as, that info, I managed to get from google.
thanks

Hi,
Like you said I am pretty sure that there’s no more limits. I travelled through France and Belgium a few days ago and the message I got doesn’t mention any sort of FUP, it just says “you can use your plan minutes, texts and data allowances at no extra cost”.
Additionally, after a bit of research on EE’s website, when looking at the roaming charges page, it just says that you can use your allowances just like home and again there’s no mention of any FUP whatsoever.
Ideally, some clarification from EE would be great as at the moment this is a massive grey area which is super confusing so no one really knows for sure. On top of that any information that we find is contradictory and out of date because different links take us to different webpages which say different things for example one may say that there’s a 25GB limit while another says 50GB limit.

@constantind 25Gb for PAYG and 50Gb for contract customers per month. It helps to know what you’re reading and what T&Cs state when you decide to roam with your device as roaming is optional not contractual so you agree to the roaming T&Cs when you roam. You might want to read THIS

Would this agent be willing to put this advice in writing? Or notepad your account to the same effect, and allow you to obtain those notes via a D-SAR?
