How much internet usage?!

I'm just trying to get my head around how much data my daughters phone is using currently. Data reset on the 26th of the month and today 28th 16GB has already gone, im sending her an additional 100gb a month ontop of the 20GB allowance on her contract. I'm not sure if this is normal its only been doing it the last few months, she is not on any WiFi appart from college WiFi as she doesn't have Internet where she lives. We are wondering if its her phone as it is very old that might be causing the huge increase in data usage. Or has the way data is used changed as I struggle to use about 8gb a month.

The amount of data used depends on what the phone is being used for. Watching videos through social media, and streaming videos can use quite a bit of data. Most phones have a built-in data counter in the phone settings, which shows you how much data has been used on each app since it was last reset.

If you let us know which make & model phone your daughter has, we can give some specific instructions to check.
