I have recently got a new EE SIM card. The data works well on some apps (e.g. whatsapp, facebook, instagram, facebook messenger). However, for some apps, there is not data connection at all - e.g. google chrome, google maps, rightmove, lloyds bank app, starling bank app. I have restarted my phone, done a system update. Contacted my phone - fairphone. Done what they suggested in my settings. But still hasn't resolved. My data signal always says LTE, not 5G or 4G etc. Please help!

LTE is 4G.

 

Have you checked your data connection permissions, to ensure those apps that are problematic, have permission to use mobile data?

 

What setting was it, that your bank suggested trying?

 

I would also suggest checking your content lock, although social media sites are usually the first to have problems where others work.

Thank you for the suggestions! All apps have data connection permission.

 

Fairphone just suggested to turn off 'automatically select network' and look for my network manually. This also didn't work.

 

As far as I can see, I do not have content lock on these apps.

Hi @L_Isabella.

 

Was your previous SIM card with EE?

 

Are you able to try using another phone temporarily to see if these apps work?

 

If not the next suggestion would be a factory reset of your phone.

It was a 3 SIM. I will try a factory reset. Thank you 🙂
