Can I use gifted data without paying roaming charges

I have the Roaming Abroad pass included with my contract. We recently added ee lines for our children on the understanding that we could gift them data when abroad that they could use for the duration of the trip without paying the daily roaming charges. When we got to France, we gave them25GB each. They have not made any calls or sent any texts, but they are both being charged the daily fee for accessing the internet. Have we been misled by the sales team?

W/out the Roam Abroad Pass any user will be charged the £2.29 daily EU roaming rate when they use any of their UK allowances in the EU incl. gifted data.

Welcome to the community.

Each line on your account will be required to have the Roam Abroad Pass to be able to use data or a daily fee will be charged.

Unfortunately, the Roaming Pass from the gifting number does not cover other lines on the account.
