Apple Watch plan

Hi, today I’ve got myself an Apple Watch 7, purchased outright..  I’m trying to add it to my mobile account, I have an iPhone 12 Pro on a sim only 100gb plan, earlier I was unable to log into my EE account, I can now! But when I try to add a plan to my Apple Watch I get after about 30 seconds a message saying Connection failed, The connection to the server was lost, please try again later!! I’ve tried many many times via 4G and Wi-Fi connection, any ideas? Don’t want to have to call EE unless absolutely necessary!

Thanks

p.s my EE also states that I’m unable to add another plan to my account at the moment, but the other day when I spoke to EE, I was trying to decide if I was buying the Watch directly or from EE, I was told I can add a Watch, tablet and additional line to my account if I wish

@a_ukboy If your getting the unable to add another plan then you will have to call customer services about this.   Ask to speak with the Apple Watch team.

@a_ukboy , I found that too, could not log-in at all, believe something must have been amiss, as usually there is a warning that you would not be able to log-in and there has been no warning.

Have you tried adding the plan for the watch via the watch app on your phone? You need to pair it with both the watch and the phone on cellular, so make sure wifi is switched off on both? If this does not work, still only on cellular unpair and start again, you cannot do this via the My EE App. Hope this helps, otherwise ring customer service and they should be able to help.

Ok, so I’ve spoken to EE and now I’m even more confused! They’ve told me I can take out up to 4 additional lines on my account, they even asked me about taking out a tablet with them, but I don’t need one, anyway apparently I’m not eligible to take out a Apple Watch plan on its own! My sim only plan is 2 months old, and they won’t allow to add a Apple Watch plan until my sim only plan is 6 months old.. Very confused! And a little annoyed tbh..

So I’ve tried again today, at first I was told you can’t add a plan to an Apple Watch that’s been purchased directly through Apple, I have to get the data plan from Apple itself 😳

Then after some digging the agent was trying to add a pairing plan to my account, but it was £5pm for 12 months, then that didn’t work so then spoke to his supervisor who said they can’t add it, I have to do it via my watch, which obviously I can’t.. Then I was told to go to an EE store for help!!

I thought EE had better Customer Service then this!

@a_ukboy , Did you not read what I wrote? Try unpairing your watch, then make sure that both phone and watch have wifi switched off and then pair again using the watch app on your phone, it should then ask whether you want to add data, this should enable you to add it, otherwise you will have to go to an EE store, they should be able to sort this out for you.

Yes I did try that yesterday! But it didn’t work..

I think it’s a problem with my account, because like I’ve said, according to My EE I’m not eligible to add another product to my account, but CS say I can add 4 more products if I so wish to..

I’ll try the EE store but I won’t hold my breath that they can help..

@a_ukboy   You’ve not been told anything correctly about this via customer services.   You can add a Watch tariff even if that Watch came via a 3rd party and it’s £7 per month.    Call customer services and request to speak with the Apple Watch team this team will know exactly how to help you.
