Did you mean:

80% of data allowance used

JulesMc74

Each month I am running out of data!

I get a message to say I’ve used 80% of data allowance… I can’t work out how!

I’m on WiFi most of the time (I think) and have been turning off cellular when I leave the house…. This all feels pointless to have a phone I can’t use when I need it out the house!!!

I’ve checked my apps and other to have much open….

any thoughts?

Android & Apple phones have a data counter facility that itemises data usage app-by-app, and in the case of Android, also separates WiFI & mobile-data. You can also synch the counting period to match your EE billing cycle.

Use of this menu option often helps in the case of "what's used my data" queries.

I am getting exactly the same thing. I am only a few days into my plan and the data has gone! This has started happening in the last couple of months … any help on what is causing it would be greatly appreciated too!

Even tho you’re on WiFi you’re still using mobile data as well it has to be turned off as it runs on both not one or the other so when I’m in the house or connected to a WiFi I turn the mobile data off and when out and about have it on

Then follow the exact same advice as posted above, What does your data counter say?

Your phone will use one data connection at a given time. WiFi will take preference when available, unless a specific individual app is configured otherwise.

My data counter isn’t set for the period. I could do that. However my behaviour hasn’t changed so I really don’t see how Im using my data in such a short space of time unless apps are draining usage when Im not actually using them. I have hardly been away from home or office since either so when is the usage happening?

I think it’s EE trying to get us to pay for add ons!

Once you've changed the data counting period, you can use the facility to identify the cause of your increased data usage.
