Hi,
I purchased this router with an EE sim last October. It worked perfectly until last Monday.
It stopped working, i took the sim out and put in my phone and 5 g worked fine. I tried a Giff Gaff sim in the ZTE router and that worked fine. So there is a compatibility problem it would seem, but why suddenly after 5 months?
I called EE who sent me a new SIM. I called ZTE who couldn't understand it and sent me a new router.
Today i tried again , exactly same issue. The EE sim card works but not in the ZTE router and a different SIM card (both Voda and Giff Gaff ) work in the router.
Can someone throw some light on this absurd situation. Please don't suggest rebooting or factory reset i went through all that last week and it didn't work. The fact is the router works the SIM works, but they are no longer compatible,: but they were from September 2023 to February 2024 inclusive!
Thanks in anticipation

Thanks for posting news of your success. Recently bought a ZTE router and SIM from Scancom only to find the issues described in this thread. But setting the device to use 5G NSA works for me as well.
The NSA designation shows 5G is being provided over the 4G infrastructure. Maybe EE have been ripping out their Huawei kit so having to fall back on the older network.
Whatever, thanks.

Hi Leanne,
I have been in contact with a ZTE reseller Livewire Telecom Limited discussing this particular issue. The immediate solution is to set the Network Selection to 5G NSA. More importantly they have been in direct contact with ZTE who have confirmed that a firmware update ending in B07 will be sent over the air shortly to overcome the issue.
Why was the problem occurring? The SIM cards allow the user to access 2G through 5G however when the router looks for the now non-existent 3G network it fails and returns a Network red light and stops progressing.
The shutdown of the 3G network has been sporadic meaning that other provider’s SIM cards will work in the short term until they terminate their 3G network.

Hi Nigel123ramzy, I cant seem to find the correct default network settings in the router menu. Would it be possible to show me the correct path to this setting. Thanks
