been getting constant messages about upgrading, I've been with EE for years and was considering getting their broadband when my current deal ends, that is until I started looking at upgrading my phone, credit checks needed, £500 deposit I've been paying them a fortune monthly and now basically starting again!!! was advised to go to the shop who may be able to offer a deal so heads up 30 mins away only to walk in the door and be told you won't get anything different here,I'm stuck at present but I'll be leaving asap

@jeandoc    What’s you’ve paid in the past has nothing to do with it it’s a new contract.

You’re also looking at a flex tariff.  It’s a separate bill for the airtime and a separate bill for the device.  The device is a credit agreement so you get credit checked as with all credit agreements,

If you don’t want a flex tariff you call customer support and tell them you don’t want a flex tariff,  they can offer you the standard tariff,

A flex tariff only has the yearly price increase on the airtime contract not the device contract.  You can pay the device part of the contract over 24 or 36 months but the airtime contract is 24 months

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
