Problem with MS intune

Hi,

My Office IT provders have just rolled out Microsoft Intune. I am WFH today and whilst I can get emails and internet on my laptop, I cannot get access to my Office Cloud network. After a number of hours of viewing setting the IT providers have suggested that I contact EE to see if there are any network settings in conflict. I have hotspotted my Vodaphone 4G phone, which works fine. I have also ruled out the EE router as the culprit as I swapped the card into my old 4g Router with the same results. So, do EE have any known conflict with Intune?

Thanks

Hi @PaulEames,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

I'm not aware of any compatibility issues with Microsoft products.

Our Technical Support Team will be happy to take a detailed look at this if you get in touch.

Thanks

James

Hi James,

I did try the Technical Team. Not super helpful! They suggested that it might be an issue with not having a static IP - which doesn't seem to be the problem. My IT support suggest that EE are blocking Port 445 (I'm not a techie, so don't understand what that means), preventing connection to Microsoft Azure (so not an InTune issue). If my access to Port 445 can be unblocked that would be great. I suspect the response from Tech support (if I bothered trying to get in touch again) would be along the lines of "find another ISP", but happy to be proven wrong. My IT providers are going to try and configure a VPN, If that doesn't work, I'll get a Vodaphone Sim!

Hi @PaulEames,

Do you know if your IT Team are able to use a different port for your connection?

If not, our Technical Support Team will be best placed to check if the port is definitely blocked.

James

Hi James,

Quote from IT: "it seems that EE blocks the SMB port 445 which Azure uses as it's protocol"

This sounds like port 445 is fixed by Microsoft for the Azure Cloud storage where our office server is hosted. It is not something that IT can change.

It is not possible to message your technical team!

Thanks, Paul

Hi @PaulEames,

Does this Microsoft Support thread help?

James

Thanks James,

I think this is suggesting what they are looking into - setting up a VPN.

Regards,

Paul
