New Smart Hub probs/queries

Just set up a new Smart Hub.

The light on the front flashes green and red or maybe orange. What does that mean? Despite the strange flashing, I set up the Smart Hub and it works. Leaving aside an issue of coverage in some rooms, there are two other things that I wonder if someone can help with.

In relation to orange/red colour, the guidance says do a factory reset, but does that apply to green and red (orange)?   If I try that, it means I have to reconnect a variety of devices.

I also changed the SSID. Let’s suppose it now is cat.

After a while, a setting of cat-Comp appeared. When I moved the hub to another location and plugged it in again, I got a new network of cat2. Where have these new settings come from? How do I get rid of them?! My original change of SSID is still showing up, and working.

Thanks for your help!

Hi @LancashireSam,

Welcome to the EE Community

Green is the hub starting up and orange is it finding a connection to the broadband, it should be solid aqua once its online. Is it constantly flashing between those colours, never just the solid aqua?

The additional SSID will relate to Compatible WiFi being turned on in your settings to help with devices connecting, you can read more about it here, including how to turn it off if you want Set up and use Compatible WiFi | Broadband Help | EE
