Hi, I have a 5GEE Mobile Router with an unlimited data package. Before I applied I checked and was told that I could gift data from the unlimited package to my EE phones. When I go to My EE and view the unlimited data it tells me that I can gift up to 120GB, but I can not get it to work. I have now been told that this does not apply to mobile routers, so I am feeling this has been mis-sold to me. Has anyone else had experience of this?

Hi @llegmij 

 

To gift data you need to be the owner of both accounts and both must be pay monthly accounts. 

 

UNLIMITED PLANS
50GB fair use policy applies outside UK. Personal, non-commercial use only. If you regularly tether 12 or more devices, we will consider this non-personal use and have the right to move you to a more suitable plan. We will consider usage above 600GB/month to be non-personal use and have the right to apply traffic management controls to deprioritise your mobile traffic during busy periods or to move you to a business plan. You can gift up to 100GB. Data usage on an unlimited plan will decrement from giftable allowance. Any data boost allowancewill be added to the giftable allowance.

Hi Northerner, thanks for prompt reply. When I queried this, I was told that data gifting was not possible on routers, only phones. Thanks for showing me the relevant wording.

@llegmij : Data gifting does apply to mobile routers but not those on 30 day plans.

 

Data Gifting – Terms and Conditions :

You will be able to gift data to or from any Pay Monthly handset, tablet or 4GEE WiFi device to any other Pay Monthly handset, tablet or WiFi device that belongs to the same family account except for devices on 3G plans, 4GEE WiFi 30 day plans and Apple Watches.

Hi, further to my previous posts, I have now taken out a sim only unlimited deal using the same 5G router.

Guess what? I can now gift data !!!!!
