I've had a read through the community but not getting a suitable answer.
I got a sim from EE but through Plusnet as they couldn't provide the speed they were charging from. I've popped the sim in my router and it's working a treat which is great. HOWEVER, I want to access competition websites but thanks to EE trying to control what I can access, even though I'm 51!, I can't do this unless I change settings in the app.
So now comes my problem, I try to link the sim as a mobile and it doesn't work. I try to link it as broadband and it finds my account but not my 'Billing Account Number'. I ring the techie people and get promised it's all set up but will just reuire a few hours to be live but nothing happens.
So what is the solution?
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hi @Scottkr1
Welcome to the community.
It's the content lock/parental controls that you need to turn off. This How do I turn on parental controls on mobiles help page explains a few different ways to do it.
Are you near an EE Store? If you are, it may be best to pop in with some photo ID and they can try and remove the restrictions there.

@Scottkr1 : If you have a SIM inside a router you have a Mobile BB router. You don't need an a/c no. to link a mobile router. That's for fixed Home BB. You link it by its mobile no.
Visit http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status from a device connected to your mobile router by WiFi to see your data & credit status as well as its mobile no. at the top.

That link would be useful except I have an unlimited plan but thank you anyway, I do appreciate the help.
What I'm actually trying to do is remove the restriction on that sim so that I can use competition sites as I really feel like I could win a new car!

I think I'll have to go into a store as when I put the sim into my phone, I can't see it in the app or link it to my account and I want to turn the moderate lock off for when it's in my router so that both my wife and I can view whatever sites we want.
I'm pleased that EE is doing some safeguarding but it's a pain when you're a fully grown adult!!

What's an unlimited plan got to do with it? I gave you that link so you can check your mobile no. as you are having trouble linking its no. Did you try running the link?
What do you mean that you got your SIM thro' PN? You sure it is an EE SIM & not a PN 1?
I do realise what you are trying to do but you won't be able to until you can link your SIM as an EE no.

All that page shows me is 07*** *** 718, but I already know what the number is. It also shows what data I have used which is irrelevant as it's an unlimited plan is what I meant.
The linking trouble is either through the app or on the website, it makes no difference which I try and whether the sim is in my phone or in my router.
What I mean by getting the sim from Plusnet is that they couldn't provide me a service where I've moved to but as they are part of BT Group, they were able to do me a deal on the EE sim as they are also in the group.
