Dear Sir/Madam, I am Vice Chair of the registered and we'll known charity The Royal British Legion, Abergavenny Branch, Monmouthshire. We are all volunteers. Locally, branches don't have a permanent building or office. We raise funds through events such as the annual poppy appeal to assist serving military, veterans and their families in their time of need. One of our members has this week completed training, DBS checks etc to be our local branch community support (BCS) volunteer. The first ever in our branch. This entails being a point of contact to help the above mentioned locally whether it be health issues, housing, employment, even down to helping less I/t savvy veterans of the older generation get connected online so that they can keep in touch with family and friends and old colleagues. In order to operate, our BCS need to be contactable by phone on a dedicated number. We obviously have to be very careful with money and ask please, would ee be in a position to assist by providing us with a phone and SIM? We would be able to pay a nominal amount for such a service through a charity registered bank account but cannot justify the cost of the cheapest phone and contract ee currently offer. The BCS volunteer needs no data whatsoever, the cheapest phone available, even a reconditioned old phone would suffice in order to make and receive calls as and when needed. Thank you for any consideration and/or help you can provide in relation to this request.

Kind regards,

Peter Farthing Vice Chair RBL Abergavenny Branch.
