New phone security.

I've just got a Samsung  Galaxy A17 5G.

It's my first Samsung and before  that I've been using a different make.

I'm not really  hot up on phone security regarding Viruses spyware hackers, ect and always  worried about  it, in the past I've use  AGV free but it seems to provide less and and less over the years,

As Ive never used a phone banking app or phone tap card payments with my phone ( using the phone as a wallet) I have bought over the Internet  before,  I'd really  like to do all that now, but I forgot to ask in the shop when I got this new phone,

Is there any particular  security Apps I should  use or security in this phone already  I need to activate.

With thanks. @

Hi @Amandacf,

Welcome to the EE Community

There are many different anti virus software available, so it is worth having a look at all the different ones to see which ones may suit you. We have also partnered with Norton to offer the EE Cyber Security add-on

The phone will be supported by Android security updates and also Samsung Knox to help keep the device and your information secure.

If you have not already during setup it would be recommended to setup biometric security which is in Settings> Security and Privacy. Banking apps will usually use biometrics for signing into your app, same with Google or Samsung Pay for paying via your phone.

Other than that just be sure to only install apps from trusted sources like Google Play to keep safe.
