Aberfan Women FC was established just one year ago and completed its inaugural season in 2025/26. In that short time, we have grown to a squad of 27 players, with numbers expected to increase further ahead of the new season. We have also developed a strong presence across social media and within the local community, helping to promote women's football and encourage greater participation in grassroots sport.
Our first season exceeded all expectations. We finished 3rd in the South Wales Women & Girls League, narrowly missing out on promotion to Division 2 by just one point. This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our players, coaches, and supporters, and provides a fantastic foundation for future success.
As we prepare for the 2026/27 season, we are seeking support from local businesses within Merthyr Tydfil to help us continue our growth and development. Sponsorship contributions will assist us in purchasing:
- An away kit for the team
- Training and coaching apparel
- Essential training equipment
- Resources to support player development throughout the season
We offer a range of sponsorship packages to suit different budgets and levels of involvement, including:

- Silver Sponsorship
- Bronze Sponsorship
