Expert Squad subscription

In a recent ee/bt online chat which the ee operator was obviously tired of, I was referred to Expert Squad to solve issues I had with wifi. I was not made aware of the fact that Expert Squad are not part of ee/BT, I thought perhaps a department of tech experts within ee/BT but there would be a one off, refundable payment of £1 due for the service. Eventually the Expert Squad operator made it clear that they were not ee or BT and I terminated the chat. 

I now discover to my suprise that I have subscribed to an Expert Squad plan for a monthly payment of £24! In applying to them for a refund I have been offered a £12 refund of the £48 I have paid with no opportunity to appeal.

I am obviously not happy with ee/BT for referring me in such a manner, nor am i happy with the way Expert Squad has dealt with my situation.

Has anyone had any similar experiences?

I don't recall being told I was being referred,  and have since discovered I was also charged in November.  I have had both £24 refunded, but jot the £1 charges. Can you enlighten me please? Thanks

Yes I had the same experience. I had problems with Amazon audibles and then came Expert Squad with the message: refundable payment of £1 due for the service. But then come the message to pay € 38,00 and I thought that was also refundable. But it is a monthly cost! Positive is that they gave a good support! You have to cancel the monthly subscription in time!

Yes a similar thing happened to me. Charged by this bunch of fraudsters 3 times for very little. €32 and €1 in September and just today 2nd October another €32. I was equally surprised that I had signed up for membership and am surprised like you that this came  up when I was trying rectify something will EE.

Did you ever use the Expert Squad service? If so, how was it that you were referred to them?

Have you been in touch with Expert Squad to cancel it and request a refund?

Yes I was subscribed to expert squad without my knowledge
I had phoned EE about my mobile wifi device and was put through to this
lot .
I was charged several months for a subscription I didn't want or need.
They ripped me off, never used their " services".
Contacted them for a refund and never got any communication from them or a
refund .

Shocking service/ Rip off

I was charged €1 for their advice on an EE problem and later €38 for two consecutive months membership which I didn’t apply and for a service I never used again. I requested a refund online and cancellation of membership. I got €19 as a refund and membership cancelled.

If so, I can only recommend contacting them directly again to discuss any refunds.
