PS5 Clicking / popping sound

PioSur

Hi there,

Does anyone have a problem with clicking / popping noise coming form the console? Intervals between sounds are not regular however it seems to go away after over an hour of playing. Nothing is happening with console however is annoying and considering 12 months warranty it can be problematic. PS5 was ordered on 27/07 so should within return period? How do I arrange for a replacement?

Thanks

Hi @PioSur

Do you have a disk in the drive (if you have the disk version).

Is your console on its side or stood up straight?

Thanks

Hi @Northerner

I have  disk edition and it happens without disk - managed to use drive once so far.. It stands up straight and had plenty space around to cool down.

What I have spotted it seems to be going after the time or is my ocd which goes away and I simply do not spot it.

Will try to record it later today but is very difficult to capture the moment when it does.

Thanks,

Thanks @PioSur

I have the disk version since launch day so mine is the older version to the one you will have.  Sat next to it listening for any sounds!

Have you added a new ssd? Just make sure the side panels are fixed in place and the dock is tight. The fan can blow hard and more so on the one you'll have as Sony reduced the internal heatsink size. It may just be the plastic getting hot.

Do your games slow down?

Thanks
