Have you ordered a PS5? Here's what to expect

**UPDATED** We've added some extra information to cover some more frequently asked questions

You can order accessories on Add To Plan, which lets you buy new kit, and spreads the cost across your monthly EE bills over the next 11 months. It doesn’t cost you any more – there are no fees and no interest, and it’s not just for pay monthly mobile plans either. 4GEE WiFi and tablet plan users can benefit too.

Find out more about Add To Plan >

Here’s some helpful information of what to expect if you ordered one.

The PS5 is showing as out of stock, what should I do?

When the PS5 is out of stock, you can register here to get notified when it is available to order again.

Am I eligible?

You are able to order if you are an existing EE customer within the first 17 months of your contract and are eligible to take Add to Plan (please note, not available at time of upgrade).

Can I buy over the phone?

No, the PS5 is only available to buy online through the online shop

How do I know my order has been successful?

When you place your order online you will see an on-screen message like the one below with an xko number

You will also get an email about your order which will look like the below

If there are any problems with your order you will be contacted directly.

You will be kept up to date with your order by regular weekly messages, no need to call.

When will my £10 upfront payment be taken?

Your payment will not be taken straight away, so no need to check your bank account. It will be taken when your PS5 order is being processed on your account.

Will you be selling accessories or games?

Yes, we are selling various packages of games, controllers and consoles.

How will I find out about my delivery details?

You will get free Monday to Friday delivery as standard on all online orders and will receive a notification when it is out for delivery.

DPD – our courier partner, will send you a text the day before your EE order arrives to confirm delivery for the following day. The message will also include options to change and track your parcel on DPD’s website.

A further message will be sent on the day of delivery advising the 1 hour slot in which your delivery will be attempted, again this message will include options to change and track your parcel.

What if I want to cancel my order?

If you wish to cancel your order, please call us on 150 to do so.

Are you excited about getting your hands on one?

I'm in the same boat - figured the code would be in the e-mail.

Hopefully that doesn't bite us later, however the EE reps' keep indicating that once we have our "About your order" email we are in the system.

Could an EE representative confirm that if we forgot our xo code in all the excitement we are still safe?

I really hope it doesn’t. I have the order email so they should be able to check their system and find it hopefully. The panic was real when I was ordering haha

I had several mini heart attacks.

let’s hope they were worth it haha

Especially becuase it was right around the time that the John Lewis and Curry websites were in the middle of crashing.

I was focusing on speed more than anything else! I even bought the wrong bundle - but a PS5 is a PS5!

So I've been on the phone to three different advisers.

1st two saying they have over allowed people to have ps5 so delivery  is likely to be 21st January.

Other said all you need is email saying your order and you'll have one by 15th December.

However I'm now being told that they are cancelling orders ??

That also contradicts what I've heard from advisers.

However if they have allowed for overallocation - then lets hope its at least first come, first served so its as fair as possible.

A few folks in this thread mentioned order cancellations - however these could be circumstantial for other reasons?

The EE rep's did mention you had a minimum contract length and a maximum time remaining.

I hope so . They just need to confirm whi has Deffo got one.

Some saying you need your confirm code and email others just email.

God knows . They told me to allow 48hours for any further confirmation

I have just made a somewhat dummy purchase of another product using the add to plan service, and it is literally the same exact experience; I have received an 'about your order' email which does not include the xko number, so hopefully this is a good sign? Hope this helps! 🙂

I can't imagine we will need our code as a mandatory thing - if we're in the system, we're in the system, right?

I've only ever used order confirmation numbers when doing things like exchanges or refunds.

When I've bought in the past from EE I usually ignore all that stuff and wait for the dispatch email (which is typically only right behind the confirmation)

I don't even need to receive a delivery estimate, just a 100% confirmation that a PS5 is earmarked for me, and then I can sit back and avoid all the Amazon chaos.

Honestly, big props to EE on this so far - this cannot be easy to have orchestrated, and the EE website was one of the few that didn't crash immediately. We're all just eager consumers concerned we will have to return to the frenzy of Day 1 purchases.

It is also very reassuring, EE saying that any issues with our orders and they will contact us directly.

Still nervous, but I think we're in good hands.
