Have you ordered a PS5? Here's what to expect

**UPDATED** We've added some extra information to cover some more frequently asked questions

You can order accessories on Add To Plan, which lets you buy new kit, and spreads the cost across your monthly EE bills over the next 11 months. It doesn’t cost you any more – there are no fees and no interest, and it’s not just for pay monthly mobile plans either. 4GEE WiFi and tablet plan users can benefit too.

Find out more about Add To Plan >

Here’s some helpful information of what to expect if you ordered one.

The PS5 is showing as out of stock, what should I do?

When the PS5 is out of stock, you can register here to get notified when it is available to order again.

Am I eligible?

You are able to order if you are an existing EE customer within the first 17 months of your contract and are eligible to take Add to Plan (please note, not available at time of upgrade).

Can I buy over the phone?

No, the PS5 is only available to buy online through the online shop

How do I know my order has been successful?

When you place your order online you will see an on-screen message like the one below with an xko number

You will also get an email about your order which will look like the below

If there are any problems with your order you will be contacted directly.

You will be kept up to date with your order by regular weekly messages, no need to call.

When will my £10 upfront payment be taken?

Your payment will not be taken straight away, so no need to check your bank account. It will be taken when your PS5 order is being processed on your account.

Will you be selling accessories or games?

Yes, we are selling various packages of games, controllers and consoles.

How will I find out about my delivery details?

You will get free Monday to Friday delivery as standard on all online orders and will receive a notification when it is out for delivery.

DPD – our courier partner, will send you a text the day before your EE order arrives to confirm delivery for the following day. The message will also include options to change and track your parcel on DPD’s website.

A further message will be sent on the day of delivery advising the 1 hour slot in which your delivery will be attempted, again this message will include options to change and track your parcel.

What if I want to cancel my order?

If you wish to cancel your order, please call us on 150 to do so.

Are you excited about getting your hands on one?

Tell us what games you are looking forward to playing in the comments by tapping “Reply” below.

"

We're really sorry but we need to cancel your Playstation 5 order.

Due to extremely high demand and limit availability, we've been let down by our supplier. As it now appears very unlikely that CPC will receive its allocated stock in the near future, we must regrettably cancel your order. All allocated will be refunded."

Please EE just be upfront and honest. Weekly update as promised. Whether it's this news or not. Let us know.

If our orders need to be cancelled, I'd rather EE do it sooner rather than later - so we can at least rejoin the queues of people for the other digital stores.

EE are a larger company than CPC so hopefully stock is allocated to them. They are the UK leading phone contract company.

No "regular weekly updates" as promised though which is concerning especially given EE's size.

Much like the £10 they will probably just change the wording on the front page on here!

Some of the behaviour in this thread is embarrassing. EE have stated by the 15th, at the moment there is no reason to think otherwise, people need to stop being so toxic and wait, it's 19 days it's not the end of the world. Yes I do agree EE should be keeping us updated as they stated they would and hopefully that update will come. I'm in the same boat waiting but pestering staff who either don't know or giving out conflicting info isn't helping matters. If the 15th comes and goes then people have a right to be upset. I'm sure things will start moving once stock actually arrives.

Hi all.

I agree with the no weekly update.

I asked my friend who works at ee and he said the latest he's been told is

That the ps5 delivery to them.is meant to be every Thursday but currently is delayed due to the pandemic (?????!!!!)

They are hoping to start deliveries by the 15th as already stated and of it happens before hand its a bonus but currently no

@Sazzleroberts someone mentioned earlier the delivery was being left to decontaminate. Makes sense as covid can live on cardboard for up to 24 hours, safety of warehouse workers come first. Might have a company wide restriction on touching any delivery for a certain time. If this is true, should be shipped next week.

@Cbeach / @Sazzleroberts

If this is true, that's fine, we should make sure everyone working through this is totally safe at every stage in the supply chain.

However EE could, you know, tell us.

If they sent an email stating "your PS5 is in the warehouse, and will be shipped next week once we are certain the product is safe for handling", people here would be jumping for joy.

Totally agree.

He said he got an email in the morning and this is what it said to explain to customers.

I asked if it was true and he said he couldn't 100% say yes as he's pretty much in the dark about it.

What would be good is for department dealing with it to give customers some update as taking the orders then leaving people to agonisingly wait until they receive a dispatch email is doing nobody's nerves any good. Agreed that they shouldn't be pestered but an update on whether they actually received any stock this week would be good.
