What is the point of accessing my account to read my bill by firstly signing in. Getting an email with a code, then being sent a second number to my mobile. Security gone mad!!!

It is called account security and as you can cancel/reorder, change your SIM or order goods and services then it is right you have these types of security in place to protect you.

Try setting up the passkey.
