I have the exact same question, the ee app is showing upgrade eligible from 4 march, I am ee sim and broadband user which is both on contract.

So, will I get the phone after 4 march?

Thanks!

Hi @syedasbahabbas,

Welcome to the EE Community

When opening a new account on SIM only, you do have to wait 6 months before being able to upgrade to a device contract, so you will have met that eligibility to upgrade.

If you are going  to upgrade from SIM only to one of our Flex pay device contracts which have a separate credit agreement for the device and an airtime plan for allowances, then a credit check will be performed for that credit agreement.

So your account will be able to upgrade at that point but the application for your contract will depend on credit check eligibility as well.

@syedasbahabbas   if your account says after the 4th of march then yes.  So that’s going to be the 5th of march onwards.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

So this means, I can buy phone on 5 march on contract with my sim only plan, and will there be any credit checks at this moment because when I was new to ee.  The ee said that you have to stay with us for 6 months then you can get your phone, so here I'm six months, can I get it now.

Alright, so can you please tell me what kind of eligibility check ee gonna do, is it hard search or soft search because as far as I know they already did hard search when I bought their sim and broadband.

@syedasbahabbas As part of the application you will be asked standard affordability questions such as employment and residency status, income and dependents etc.

A hard search would be done as part of the application when taking out a new Flex pay contract from SIM only as its a new line of credit for the device.
