Can someone explain to me how I can update my broadband package when the given phone number is no longer in use?

@Ambermile : You'll need to call CS to get your BB a/c no. if you don't already have it (starting 'GB' followed by 8 digits).

Since the advent of digital landlines BB a/c's are no longer id'ed by phone no.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Home Broadband & Home Phone or Option 2 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

I know my account number. The phone number is the security number they send - or would send - confirmation of changes to. It's not in use anymore, so I cannot get through the security steps

Then you would need to change the contact mobile no. in your Profile.

And there you have it. I cannot, because I need access to the old number to change it.

Round and round. Never thought I'd say this but... Virgin looking good about now.
