Hi,
I recently took an additional connection on my account for my wife to use. All went OK, SIM arrived and we've ported the number over.
Wanted to create a "My EE" account for my wife, I know I'm the bill payer, buy got the impression she could still have an account and be able to link her number.
Unfortunately system says her number is already linked (to my account). No way of her having her own account so she can check usage, add/renove bars etc?

Hi @SoufferTheCat,
Are you trying to register the second account as a user, rather than bill payer?

Ah - that is a very good question. So during the registration it asks the question "Are you the bill payer......". So do I need to say "no" at that point and we'll get a user account instead?

Hi,
No - that doesn't work.
So she attempts to create a "My EE" account, enters her number. This time selecting "No, I am not the bill payer".
Get a screen that says:
We need to stop here
Sorry, only the account holder of a product can link it with their account.
You can still use your device but if there's something you need to change on the account, you'll need to ask your account holder to do it for you.
I can give my wife my logon credentials so she can check these things, just seems a little off that she cannot have her own "My EE" account with her number. I appreciate this is an "additional line" on my account - but surely I'm not the only person who isn't using the additional line myself and instead a family member is.

Hi,
No, I didn't - but to be honest with you, I didn't get around to contacting customer service, I just don't really have the time.
If I could do an online chat that would probably work, but EE don't seem to offer that feature. I'm surprised - I cannot believe for a second there aren't plenty of families who take advantage of "Second lines" to keep the cost down and despite the only mantra of "never give your username/password to anybody", the easiest solution was just to let my wife login to my main account and manage anything from there.
We had a secondary issue - the new second line should also have had 6 months of Apple TV+ - However whenever we tried to claim it, we were given the run around and I suspect that is down to the fact I've already claimed it on my line and there is no way to now claim again on the second line.
I think it's just safe to say that EE's systems are unable to separate any "second lines" into a separate sub-account - so you can't create a "My EE" or claim any of the freebies or discounts as their system demands your the bill payer to create an account and sees any previous claims for freebies as the one and only claim you can make.
