EE Broadband with Digital Home Phone deals for Plusnet customers

At present I use PlusNet broadband over a standard landline which will be a problem when things change in the future.

I am looking into going to an EE Broadband with Digital Home Phone deals for Plusnet customers.

Which (I assume) includes a Broadband Router and a connected phone handset.

I have a number of questions:

a) Will the new EE Broadband Router provide local WIFI at the standard 2.4GHz and 5GHz?

I have 2 PC’s using 5GHz. 1 PC using 2,4Ghz, 1 printer on 2.4Ghz and (when active) my Mobile SmartPhone on 2.4Ghz.

b) I assume there is a phone handset supplied with/on the EE Router

c) If I also obtain an ee_home_phone_adapter_ug_v4 can I plug my present BT/Landline phone combination into this and will it work. At present my landline is directly connected to 5 off cordless phones and one off main cordless phone + local transmitter and connection point of the landline.

d) What will happen to my present landline telephone number if we implement this and what will be the new EE Broadband with Digital Home Phone number.

Ideally I would like to keep/re-use my present Telephone Number as all of our contacts are already aware of this number – this is a 5 digit Area Code and 7 digit phone number,

Regards

@RCroucher :

  1. Yes & possibly 6GHz depending on which plan & router you get. Routers are either WiFi6 or WiFi7.
  2. No.You won't get a phone handset with your BB unless you buy 1. Your existing phones should work with DV.
  3. You may connect your existing base stations into the back of the router or ATA adapters. The latter you can get from EE. What's a "local transmitter"?
  4. You keep your existing landline no. as long as you tell EE you are bringing it over. Your local contacts will need to now include the local area code with DV.

What flavour of BB do you currently have with PN?

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker > Address Checker estimate for your address? Post the whole table, the text below it and the line above it, blanking out your address.
