Landline number has changed?

I'm a new customer and after being tricked into losing my landline by Virgin Media, BT/EE said we can have our original landline number reinstated because it was under 3 months since VM disconnected us. Great I said sign me up.  At first the landline did not work (although there was a dialing tone) an engineer soon got it working but the number has been changed? I would like our old number back please (as agreed) we have had our old number for over 40 years! I did try to contact EE by phone but I keep getting cut off?

@davidb40 Did you manage to get a call back using the fault service or manage to call up on 150 or 07953 966 150?

As I know you mentioned having issues with calling, but if you are able to get connected one of our guides should be able to provide an update on what is happening with your original landline number being activated on your line.

Hi @davidb40,

Welcome to the EE Community 🙂

I am sorry you have been having an issue with your landline recently. When is it you are getting cut off when calling?

Have you tried using our fault report call back service? This is done by texting PHONE to 66033, it will just run some quick checks then arrange a call back from an agent.

If you are having issues calling us on our normal contact numbers 150 or 07953 966 150 this may help to get in touch so our team can investigate the number issue.

Alex

Thanks Alex. Yes EE have done all the checks and the line is now up and running....but it isn't our original landline number? I was told that I was getting our original landline number reinstated?

Hi there! Yes I managed to get thru to an engineer and yes they have now given me our original landline number as they first promised, so all is back to normal and we are very happy. Thank you!
