 Hi,

Im wondering if it is possible to remove the box below the open reach box as I don’t have a house phone? There is a little cable connecting the 2 boxes though, or is this a job for an EE engineer?

Thanks in advance 👍

I doubt there is a cable joining the 2 boxes but just that the landline feeding that phone socket just happens to come thro' the wall behind the ONT close to where the Full Fibre comes in.

It's really a job for an OR eng. but if you did remove it then remove the aforesaid "joining" cable from the A & B terminals at the back of the phone socket & tape them up. If you ever did want DV that master phone socket could come in useful.

Your Ethernet cable to the ONT is rather unsheafed/frayed!

Cheers for the info, regarding the fraying, it’s just a sticker on the Ethernet cable.

Looking at the photo, I think the thin white cable is the fibre and that it was fed through the existing ducting that the copper came through. Seems to be the same size as that which goes to the "OPTICAL" Port (black connector).

Interesting angle into the ONT if that is the case though!

Ah, yes, that's the other possibility, in reverse.

The little cable running from the top left of the telephone socket has some slack on it that’s been wound up behind the OR box before getting plugged into the bottom.

Yes, @Matt_124 was right. It is the fibre cable entering the house where the landline comes in. There will still be a copper cable to remove from the A & B terminals at the back of the phone socket, if you were to go ahead & remove it.
