lost phone

I lost my phone and reported this straight away. i only have damage cover so what happens now? do i need to just take out a new contract? do i need to keep paying for the lost phone i dont have?

If you have no insurance for accidental loss you need to get a new phone for sure, either by taking out a new contract or buying 1 outright, maybe as PAYG.
Despite losing your phone you are still committed to seeing out your contract & paying for it.

Your contract will continue as normal, you are free to use a replacement SIM in any phone of your choice - a spare you may have, or one that you buy SIM-free.
Depending how far into your minimum term you are, you may upgrade at cost - this will restart a new minimum term. Or purchase a new phone from a retailer of your choice outright without a contract "SIM free"
