Hello all
would be interested to find out if when upgrading/taking on a new flex pay you can ONLY set it up by direct debit and can not change to pay by card monthly?
I last had my final flex payment with my older phone from 2022 to 2024 as paying by card and didn’t have a direct debit for almost if not all of those payments. Today I was told I can’t choose to pay it without setting up a direct debit and cannot cancel it to pay before ? The person I spoke to even didn’t believe me that I did pay before without a direct debit in place but she looked and saw for herself. So just wanted to find out if this is true as I’ve had up and down experiences with EE persons saying the incorrect things or messing up my usage and plans. Thanks

Hi @Natashagun.
Thanks for confirming.
That's correct, a direct debit is required when setting up a contract.

@Natashagun Just to check you were paying for the airtime and the phone separately? Ie you had two bills.
