Why do i need ID to view my account?

Hi, 

 

Left EE around 2 years ago. Just signed up again, (same email account), transfered number back & all is good but cannot access my account as it says it is closed & I need photo ID to bring to a store? 

 

WTH is this? Why do I need ID just to access any part of my online account when you have already  set everything up and about to take my money without any ID? I refuse to give ID for such a stupid reason. I can't even view my contract and it's been active for over a week. 

 

Tell me there is a way around this or I will just cancel it all.

@Matty831  Because your old EE account is closed and your email address is still registered to that account and now you’ve opened a new account with that same email address.   
You could call customer support and request that they remove your email address from that closed account so you can send so it with the new account.  

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
