Visual voicemail

My 24 month contract with ee expires on 30/11 and I’ve just contacted them to arrange to have a SIM only contract from 1/12.  After my call ended I received a few texts from ee. One of them said that visual voicemail has been removed but I can text 150 to reactivate it. Does anyone know if I will have to pay for it to be reactivated?  I can’t see any helpful info on their website about it.

Hello @Ambsnan1 ,

Welcome to the community,

This is normal and you should receive some more text saying visual voicemail is active, same if you have call abroad.

EE do this, as you have upgraded, so add-ons on your old contract are cancelled and once your new contract is active, you will receive more text, letting you know that visual voicemail is active, you should not need to do anything, all the free ones you had before, should be there.

Hope this helps, you will also be able to see this in My EE App or by logging into your account online.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Thanks for the info Schockwave. The new SIM only contract doesn’t start till 1/12 so I don’t understand why they have already taken it off. I will wait to hear from them.

@Ambsnan1  Because you have upgraded.  Your current contract doesn’t end at the minimum term date and you new one starts.   You’re probably already using your new contract now because you upgraded.   ( check your online account )

if you wanted your new contract to start on a specific date, then you should’ve waited until closer to that date.  Upgrading to a sim only is only an account change so it can happen within hours of requesting that upgrade.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

I checked but I’m still on my old contract. It’s not too much of a problem as I can call voicemail but it was nice and quick the other way.
