Upgraded Existing Contract For Free, Can I Cancel without a Fee within 14 days?

Hi,

I have just upgraded my 24 month EE contract to a cheaper 12 month contract. I did want to totally cancel my 24 month contract but would have to pay a cancellation fee.

I have just upgraded therefore still within the 14 day cancellation period.

Am I able to switch to a new provider without paying the early cancellation fee?

Many Thanks. Helpful answers will be upvoted.

Hi,

If I upgrade my existing 24 month contract to a cheaper 12 month contract, am I then able to switch to a different provider within the 14 day cancellation period without a penalty fee? (I upgrade online).

Many Thanks

Not at all, as by upgrading you are now committed to a 12 month contract.

By cancelling within its 14 day cooling-off period you would just be cancelling the act of upgrading itself, not the whole contract. & you would revert back to your old contract where it stood.

You choose between them to switch to another network by whichever will have lower termination fees.
