Switching to sim only

I have 7 months left on my contract, I can upgrade now with ‘no fee’. Can I upstage to a sim only or do I have to wait 7 months to change to a sim only?

If you are on a handset contract you have see out your contract. You may only upgrade now to another more expensive handset contract.
