I’m assuming sending pictures is included in my unlimited texts, mins and data plan?

No, they aren't! Picture msgs are sent as MMS which are chargeable or you may buy an add-on.

As @XRaySpeX said, if you send a picture as an MMS (text message with picture attached), it is chargeable. If you send them via iMessage (Apple) or another messaging service such as Whatsapp, it's covered under your data allowance.
