Retain SIM (number) after contract ends

What happens if your contract ends and you want to retain the phone number, e.g. you go away and return after a gap year back to the UK?

@Pizdarije  at the minimum term your contract changes to a 30 day rolling contract at the same price point and after 3 months you get a 10% discount on that cost.

You can either upgrade to a Sim only so you can have a cheaper tariff or you can change to a PAYG. You just need to make sure that you use the number if you change to PAYG.

If you just terminate your contract you’ll loose the number so you need to upgrade/change to PAYG.

Upgrade you can do this via your online account and select sim only then the tariff you want. ( you can do this 45 days before your minimum term but the new contract will only commence once you have seen out the full 24 months of your original contract tariff)
to change to PAYG you need to call customer services and inform them you want to terminate the contract with 30 days notice and change to PAYG.     You can only do this 30 days before your minimum term.

Only do any of the above while your in the UK as you could end up being cut off if you was abroad and tried doing this.
