HI! I have just moved to Dubai, my 24-month contract has ended so now I am on a monthly rolling plan for £35 which I really don't need now that I have a UAE sim. However, I would like to keep my EE number so that I have access to this number when I am sent OTP for 2FA on my UK accounts. I have kept my EE physical sim in my phone and set up my UAE number on an E-sim. Is there any way I can downgrade my EE plan to PAYG, or, any other more economical way to keep my number, whilst I am abroad? Thanks

You can contact EE-CS and request a 30day notice cancellation of your pay-monthly plan with migration to PAYG once that 30days has expired.
The issue you will have, is that you will then have a new PAYG SIM which needs to be first used in the UK before roaming is enabled for use abroad - thus it will stop working. It will be subject to the PAYG hibernation policy which requires chargeable usage at least once every 179days to avoid being suspended.
