I’ve moved my bill date from the 7th to 31st of each month. The 7th is coming up soon and I’m paying that bill does me moving to the 31st mean I’ll be paying the end of this month to or the following month?

@Twigz14 : The bill you are paying for the 7th will include a month in advance till about the end of Aug. Your new billing date will be about 24 Aug. in order for your payment date to fall on the 31st. That bill will have a month in advance from 24 Aug. less a credit for the days from 24 - 31 Aug that you already paid in your previous bill.

I’m confused as to what you mean. So u will next have a payment taken on the 24th of this month?

Hi @Twigz14

Thanks for coming here.

Please see our Set up or change a Direct Debit?, Help page, within the changing your direct debit date this has details on how this will impact your next bill and what to expect.

Yes, I know it's rather involved but don't worry about it. You will be paying the correct amounts at the right times.

You will next be billed on about the 24th of the month giving you time for your DD to be taken on the 31st as you requested.

Indeed so. The nature of making changes to your account partway through bill cycles (or in your case, changing the bill cycle) means credits and debits are applied pro-rata.

The amount you pay will even out at the end, but the clue to varying amounts will lie in checking the dates on each item on your bill.
