Hi,

I want to add my sister In law to my EE account. When I try to add her number it says as I’m not the bill payer I can’t, but I have my husband on and I dont pay his bill nor is it in my name so I’m not understanding what I’m doing wrong. Any advice please.
I find the EE app and website awful to use.

@TEMJ : She presumably has her own a/c on EE. It is her that needs to initiate a change of ownership. She needs to call CS with both of you available on the line to effect a change of ownership. The other person , you or your husband whoever is the a/c holder of your a/c, will need to pass a credit check. They will then be paying for that contract. If you can't do it together CS will give the current owner a password for the other to quote when they call.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

Hi @TEMJ,

Thanks for visiting us at the EE Community 🙂

Is it just the online account you are trying to link up? If you are logged in click Link a device> Enter the mobile number you are wanting to link> Confirm the PIN sent via text> It will then ask you to confirm if you are the bill payer, which as long as you have their permission you can select.

It will then either successfully link the account to your e-mail or if the number is already linked to an existing EE ID online account it will come up with an error saying that. If that happens your sister in law would need to call us on 150 if she wants to change from managing it using her own EE ID to having you manage it on your EE ID.

Linking the number up to your EE ID will allow you to view the bills and manage add-ons etc, but if it remains on a separate billing account you wont be able to data gift between the numbers. To take advantage of any multi product benefits such as data gifting would require the numbers be on the same billing account.

If that is what you are looking to do the great advice from @XRaySpeX on doing a change of ownership explains the steps for that.
