Hi - my 24 month contract is due to end on the 28th of November. My final bill will be created on October 29th (at which point I will have paid 24 bills). I would ideally like to start my new contract with a new provider basically as soon as possible without paying extra, so my question is:
A) If I request my PAC code after my final bill has been created, will I therefore pay no cancellation fee, and only be charged for anything additional to my bill that comes up between the 29th and when I move my number across? (I've been told conflicting things by CS - Billing say that this will be the case, another regular CS advisor didn't seem to know that we pay for the month ahead, not the month just gone, and thought I would need to pay at the end of November as well (which would be my 25th bill) and being unsure about this is making me anxious)
B) If I request a PAC code, do I also need to give the 30 days notice that I'm leaving? Or is the PAC code in itself enough?
Thank you in advance!

It's not the requesting of the PAC that matters but the use of the PAC by your new network to port your no. It's that that cancels your EE contract. There is no 30-day notice given in that case. Your EE contract will end when you are live on new network. Best to do this in last few days of your contract term so you have little or no overlap.

Great, thank you! And if the new network does transfer my number in that last month, I won't be charged any cancellation fees?

You will be charged an early termination fee but as it is 4% less than you normal monthly fee, that you will have already paid, you will get a final bill on about 28 Nov with a bit of a rebate.

Sorry to be stupid and sorry to keep bothering you! Do you mean that I'll pay my 24th bill as usual, and then at the end of November just get a little bit of money back?

Exactly that if you port earlier than 28 Nov.
