Flexi Pay? Free upgrade? I just want an old style upgrade

Hello.

I am told I am due for an upgrade as my contract finishes on 10 May. However, when I add my phone and plan to basket I'm met wirh this flexi pay rubbish? I juat want the one payment leaving my account the way ive had it since I joined EE years ago.

Also for a free upgrade why do you want over £700 upfront? I'm really confused.

I just want one payment leaving my account like I've always done it. It's easier for me thay way. Is it still possible? And why do you want £700 upfront?

Thank you for your help.

@WillJohnWood91   A free upgrade doesn’t cover any upfront costs towards the new device.  It just means you’re not charged to terminate the current contract.

As it seems you don’t know what a flex tariff is I’ll just say this.    You’ll not get any annual price increases on the device contract it’s only applicable to the airtight contract.    You’ll also will not know the difference just make sure you set it up for a 24 month device contract.  It’s cheaper to spread the cost over 36 months for the device contract and some customers want that as they don’t need to upgrade every 24 months.   But if you still want a standard contract you need to call customer support you can not do this online.

£700 up front is because the tariff doesn’t cover the cost of the device,    Your purchasing a device also so what device is it ?   What’s the monthly cost of that device?
