Flex Pay....

Hardly use the app only if I need to upgrade.

What is Flexpay?

So I can't upgrade normally anymore unless I opt in for this Flexpay? I don't want two seperate contracts and direct debits.

You seem to know already that it's separate contracts & DDs, a credit agreement for the device itself, usually 3 years, & t'other for the SIM airtime plan, usually 2 years. See How Flex Pay works

If you want a traditional contract with the device & SIM airtime plan bundled together, you will need to call CS to order it.

I've never known about 3 year agreements. I've only ever had a 2 year contract and that's it. When I've upgraded in the past I've never come across this flex pay.

FlexPay has come into play in the last 2 or so years.

Makes sense that I've not heard of it then because my contract is nearly up after 2 years

The device credit agreement isn't "usually 3years", the length is a choice.
