EE took out the balance of my phone contract, then weirdly refunded it back to me? Now they’re saying I owe £147.54? Why?

Welcome to the community.

The Direct Debit would only be returned to you if there was a problem with it going through, or it your bank requested it. We'd usually try again a few days later. 

It may be worth speaking to our Mobile Care team to check the status of the balance on your account.

The Direct Debit would only be returned to you if there was a problem with it going through, or it your bank requested it. We'd usually try again a few days later. 

It may be worth speaking to our Mobile Care team to check the status of the balance on your account.
