Contract ended, still paying while waiting for new iPhone

Hi, my EE contract ended today for an iPhone 14 Pro Max with unlimited calls and data, but I'm still set to keep paying the full amount while waiting for my new iPhone 16 Pro Max ordered October 1st.

EE gets a lot from me each month - fibre broadband, payments for iPhone, Watch, and iPad Pro - and, while I'm satisfied with the service generally, I'm not happy to be still paying for a phone that's been paid for in full. This is especially true given the waiting involved for the new iPhone models.

It isn't fair, it isn't right and it is - given the amount involved - quite an audacious rip-off, given I got a reassuring tone letter in the post telling me I could just do nothing and keep going paying out over £100+ a month for an iPhone I now own. No. I don't think so. What can be done? Thank you.

EE's contracts don't end in the same way fixed-term ones do, the natural consequence would be an automatic disconnection of a line.

You have a rolling contract with a minimum term. At the end of that minimum term, one option you have is to move to a SIM-only plan to reduce monthly costs. You can upgrade back to a phone-plan anytime you choose, if you move to a SIM-only plan from a phone-plan.

Otherwise you'll receive a 10% discount after 3months.
